The thesis investigated and substantiated scientific and theoretical, methodological and applied principles of the state regulation of domestic urban settlements using foreign experience. Designed a structural-logic model of the state regulation of social and economic development of urban settlements in the context of inter-related areasThe basic problems of domestic urban settlements and proposed main areas regarding their decision using European experience. Improved the classification of urban areas of the state in accordance with the proposed scale on the number of population in them that do not meet the legal criteria regarding their status.
