Essay

The object is the philosophical oeuvre of F. W. J. Schelling. The aim is detailed and comprehensive reconstruction of the theoretical analysis of the myth problem in Schelling's philosophy. The methods are: a complex historico-philosophical method, a systematic method, a comparative approach, methods of hermeneutical analysis, a biographical method, methods of cultural studies etc. The consideration of the principal tendencies and milestones in the development of Shelling's ideas about myth demonstrates that philosophical teaching of myth of the thinker, which is the essential component of early and late periods of Schelling's oeuvre, has undergone significant modifications in the philosophical search of Schelling. The basic questions of Schelling's conception of myth (connection of mythology and art, theogonical process, doctrine of mysteries etc.) along with others, previous and contemporary conceptions developed, particularly in the clusters of "German Romanticism" and "German philosophical study of antiquity of XIX century" has been analyzed; their influence on Schelling's philosophical teaching of myth is found. Application sphere is the educational process.
