Korin S. Metaphor and metametaphor in German discourse: cognitive and pragmatic-stylistic aspects

Object of research: metaphor and metametaphor (complex metaphor) in German discourse. The aim in writing this paper is to study the role of metaphor and metametaphor in German discourse in combine with linguo-cognitive, linguo-pragmatic and linguo-stylistic aspects. Methods: structural and semantic, semantic and stylistic, comparative, contextual, a frame analysis method, a synergetic method. Theoretical and practical results: the formation and explanation of a systematic approach to linguistic research of discourse and the role of metametaphor in it. The combine of discourse as linguo-cognitive, linguo-pragmatic and linguo-stylistic structures in the investigated sources is based on using the metametaphor. The results of the study are a contribution to linguistics and stylistics of the text, to the theory of discourse and to the development of metametaphor concept. Scientific novelty is that a systematic study of metametaphor in discourse in combine with its cognitive, pragmatic and stylistic characteristics is carried out for the first time. Metametaphor is a text- and discourse-creative factor, creates the semantic connections of concepts that was firstly shown in the frames of text concepts. For the first time the role of metametaphor is determined in making the connection between space-time structures of discourse and in finding the characteristics of copyright codes and speech strategies. Application: lecture courses on German stylistics, special courses on pragma linguistics, theory and practice of linguo-stylistic text interpretation.
