Roman K. The development of bank payment cards market in Ukraine

The thesis presents the main results of the theoretical and practical bases of functioning and development of the bank payment cards market in Ukraine as well as recommendations for improving of its efficiency. Author developed the essence of the concepts of "payment system", "bank payment card", "card payment system", the structure and characteristics of the bank cards market considering to its place and role in social and economic development of the country. He analyzed the main trends and characteristics of the bank payment cards market in Ukraine as an integral part of the infrastructure of the national economy, analyzed the main trends in the regulation and oversight of payment systems. The thesis also provides practical proposals of improving the regulatory and legal framework of the national bank payment cards market, indicates the basic principles of the development of national payment cards scheme and single national payments area on the basis of international experience.
