Troichenko L. The efficacy of improved method of persistent epithelial defects and torpid corneal ulcers treatment

Object: persistent epithelial defects and torpid corneal ulcers. Purpose:increase the effectiveness of treatment of persistent epithelial defects and torpid corneal ulcers by identifying clinical criteria severity of the pathological process and reparative abilities of the cornea, based on clinical and immunohistochemical studies, followed by a comprehensive treatment using autosylogous serum. Methods: general ophthalmic, cytological, immunocytochemical, graphic and diagram analysis, statistics; slit lamp, cytological filters Millicell, microscope "Jenamed 2".The frequency of torpid corneal defects was established. A system baseline assessment eye were developed when persistent epithelial defects and torpid corneal ulcers of different etiology and in disturbance of corneal regeneration after the keratoplasty. Supplemented by scientific data to increase the regenerative ability of the cornea with autologous serum iuse in patients with torpid corneal lesions. Refined data on the improvement of tactile sensitivity, optical ability of the cornea, increased sum lacrimal production and tear film stability in patients with torpid corneal lesion. Clarified evidence of the effectiveness of the proposed method of treatment using autologous serum confirmed by reduce period of corneal epithelisation. Results have been implemented in the "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy NAMS of Ukraine". Scope - medicine, ophthalmology.
