Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study on clinical features and course of paranoid schizophrenia in patients with abdominal obesity, their quality of life, level of social adaptation and compliance. A complex clinical-psychopathological, anamnestic and psychodiagnostic investigation of 104 patients with paranoid schizophrenia was conducted. These patients were divided on 3 groups: patients with normal body weight, with overweight and with abdominal obesity. An investigation of clinical features of these patients was conducted. There were found features of positive and negative symptoms in patients with various abdominal obesity in comparison with patients with normal and overweight. The features of compliance factors and satisfaction of therapy were revealed and modules of psychoeducational programs were worked out on the basis of explored patterns. These programs were components of complex psychorehabilitation program directed to improvement of quality of patent's life and increase of compliance in patients with paranoid schizophrenia and abdominal obesity. At the final stage of work, through re-examination of the study group by clinical-psychopathological method and psychometric techniques effectiveness of the psychorehabilitation program were confirmed.
