The model of the lexico-semantic field “doubt” is proposed, the synonymic groups of the most widely used lexemes for designation of doubt are given analysis as well as the semantic ties between them and their contextual realization are demonstrated. Grammatical units and types of questions, which are used for pragmatic expression of doubt are singled out. Nonverbal means for designation of doubt are classified and their lexical and graphical embodiement in discourse is illustrated.
