inoculated with strains and Tn5-mutants of slow growing nodule bacteria Bradyrhizobium japonicum with different symbiotic characteristics. It was shown that transposon mutant strains of B. japonicum 646 retain the ability to synthesize phytohormones of auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin nature and abscisic acid in vitro. The direct relationship between the synthesis of zeatin riboside by rhizobia in vitro and nitrogen fixation activity of symbiotic systems formed with their participation was established and can be used as a marker sign in selection of new highly efficient strains of nodule bacteria.
