Pentchyuk V. Efficiency of new methods of prognosis and prophylaxis of cataract after primary open-angle glaucoma surgery treatment

Object of research: primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Purpose: to increase the efficiency of surgery treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) patients by working out of new methods of prognosis and prophylaxis of cataract development and progress after antiglaucomatous surgeries. Research's methods: general clinical, ophthalmological , enzyme immunoassay, statistical ones. Scientific knowledge about peculiarities of lens opacification after surgery treatment of POAG was added. Scientific data about quantitative VEGF level of patients having POAG and age-related cataract were added. Scientific data about fibrinolys system of aqueous humor of patients having POAG and age-related cataract were added. It was stated that one of the cataract development and progress mechanism after antiglaucomatous surgery were the VEGF level increase and infringement in fibrinolysis system in aqueous humor. It was stated that one of the cataract development and progress mechanism after antiglaucomatous surgery were penetrating type of antiglaucomatous surgeries, postsurgery hemorrhage and inflammatory complications and their consequences. New complex method of cataract prophylaxis development and progress after primary glaucoma surgery treatment in the form of interferontherapy were developed and put into practice. Results have been implemented in 8 medical institutions of Ukraine, and the main provisions of which are incorporated into the program of lectures and workshops in 4 university medical institutions in Ukraine.
