Mykytas I. Administrative and legal status of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine.

The thesis is a scientific research which is focused on the analysis of problem issues of administrative and legal status of the central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of execution of criminal penalties. The thesis is concerned with the administrative and legal status of central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of execution of criminal penalties. The author examines the history of the development of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine in legislation and legal doctrine. The concept and specific features of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine as an object of administrative regulation are defined. An international experience in regulation of the penitentiary system is analyzed, preconditions and priorities of its implementation in Ukraine are formed. The author pays special attention to the organizational and legal functioning of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine.
