The dissertation deals improvement of diagnosis and treatment of atopic dermatitis in children. A comprehensive approach to evaluation of clinico-pathogenetic peculiarities of atopic dermatitis clinical course has been taken with the investigation of various adaptive responses, characteristics of the somatic background, quality of life indices and their causal association with the connective tissue dysplasia. It was determined, that the peculiarities of clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis in children on the background of connective tissue dysplasia are earlier signs of the disease with unfavorable clinical course, and marked objective and subjective manifestations casing the disease development. Atopic dermatitis has been determined to have complex pathogenetic mechanism characterized by vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 increase, imbalance between components of pro-oxidant system, as well as antioxidant component imbalance. Atopic dermatitis has been proved to lead to neurotic disorders in which anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance predominate. The level of severity of neurotic disorders increases with the severity of the disease and in the presence of background connective tissue dysplasia. Quality of life score deterioration in children with atopic dermatitis and their families has been developed. We have developed, pathogenetically substantiated and clinically proved a method of pharmacotherapeutic correction of the principal metabolic, immunologic and adaptation disturbances in children with atopic dermatitis depending upon the severity of the disease and signs of connective tissue dysplasia with the introduction of complex magnesium preparation and vitamin B6 into drug therapy.
