This candidate thesis is a comprehensive study of the Orthodox Church in the system of government in the XVIII century. In the research has done historiographical analysis, including analysis of various types of sources. The problems of the study of church government in Russia in XVIII century, the subordination of the Church to the state. Analyzed the problem of the formation, development and operation of the central and local government Orthodox Church. Attention is paid to the implementation of government policy measures and their impact on internal church life that led to the alienation of land ownership in the spiritual lords in the XVIII century. The author consider changes in the economic situation of the clergy of the Russian Empire in the XVIII century. It is pointed out a problem of church-state relations which regarding land tenure of clergy, study the sources of income of the clergy, their distribution, financial principles of operation of the Orthodox Church. Particular attention is paid to the impact of secularization on these processes.
