The doctoral thesis investigates the general-theoretical features of literary paradox poetics and the peculiarities of their employment in dramatic works of the second half of the XX century. Outlined are the meaning of the term 'literary paradox' and the main mechanisms of its employment in works of literature. Specified are the typical algorithms of the emergence of literary paradox at different text levels.These comprise works by Eug?ne Ionesco, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee, Friedrich D?rrenmatt, Max Frisch, Fernando Arrabal, S?awomir Mro?ek, Edward Radzinsky and Alexander Irvanets.
