Larysa S. Actualization of the "knowledge economy" phenomenon in the English language: lingual and socio-lingual parameters

The dissertation investigates lingual (structural and semantic) and socio-lingual aspects of English lexical and phraseological nominations that actualize the "knowledge economy" phenomenon. On the basis of elaborate criteria for defining the professional language of economy and its lexical corpus in the research has been compiled a thesaurus of new nominative units within the economic sphere and determined its composition and structure. Also in this dissertation are analyzed specific characteristics of word-formation, semantic neonomination, phraseological neonomination, and interlingual / intralingual borrowings relevant to the "knowledge economy" phenomenon. A thorough analysis of the interdependency between lingual and socio-lingual parameters of economic-lexicon enrichment allows for the development and provides support for the hypothesis of the existence of a multidimensional correlation between processes of neonomination in English and key factors in forming a new economic paradigm - knowledge economy.
