Object of research: processes of the functioning and development of an enterprise; goal of the research: theoretical justification, development of methodical approaches and practical recommendations concerning the formation of an information environment of the FDE; research methodology and apparatus: morphological analysis, theoretical generalization and logical analysis, comparison method, the method of taxonomic analysis, expert assessment method, cluster analysis, statistical analysis; theoretical and practical results: methodical approach to determine the stage of the functioning and development of an enterprise on the basis of assessment of its information environment; assessment process of formation of the information environment of the functioning and development of an enterprise; model of the functioning and development of an enterprise, the distinctive feature of which is the availability of five phases (creation and formation, growth, stability, recession, liquidation), and there are stages of the functioning and development of an enterprise at the each phases; sequence of the information environment formation of the functioning and development of an enterprise; interpretation of the concepts "functioning of an enterprise" and "development of an enterprise" on the basis of differentiation of these processes, taking into account the availability of qualitative and quantitative changes considering adaptation and transformational nature of the processes and orientation to the current and strategic objectives respectively; conceptual and categorical apparatus of the information environment formation of the functioning and development of an enterprise (due to the definition of terms "information", "information support of the FDE" and "information environment of the FDE"), as well as determination of the information environment structure represented by the following elements: internal information environment (spheres of the technical and technological and human resources, financial resources, financial condition, financial results, strategy and objectives), immediate external information environment (spheres of resources, market, regional legal and political spheres) and general external information environment (political, economic, social, cultural, demographic, legal, international, scientific and technological spheres); subject and the degree of implementation: suggestions are introduced in practical activity of JSC "Kharkiv Electromechanical Plant "Ukrelectromash", LLC "PIRANHA", Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics at teaching disciplines "Basics of the information economy", "Information management" for bachelors of study direction "Management" and masters in specialty "Personnel Management and Labor Economics"; scope: formation of information environment of the functioning and development of an enterprise, educational process.
