The thesis is dedicated to the complex research of functioning of special lexicon used in science fiction text. Special lexicon contains special vocabulary proper and quasi-special vocabulary coined by the author. Special lexicon is considered to be an element of figurative means of the modern English science fiction text. The thesis also analyses the genre-forming potential of special lexicon in science fiction.
