The object - anti-serfdom works written by Marko Vovchok "Instytutka", "Ukrainian Folk Stories", "Raskazu iz russkogo narodnogo byna", Taras Shevchenko "Myzukant", "Varnak", "Artist", I. Nechui Levytskyi , "Mykola Dzheria", Panas Myrny "Khiba revut' voly, yak yasla povni ?", "Lykho davnie i s'ohochasne" and the story "Yak zhyvet'sia, tak i vedet'sia", M. Staritskyi "Razboinik Karmeliuk", V. Belinsky "Dmitry Kalinin", O.Hertsen "Soroka-vorovka", M. Pavlov "Imeniny", M. Leskov "Tupeinyi khudozhnik", abolitionist novels written by H. Beecher Stowe "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and "Dred", Richard Hildreth "The White Slave". The purpose - a comparative analysis of the works of Ukrainian, Russian writers, who revealed the problems of serfdom, and American abolitionist literature to determine the typological approach to them. The methods - comparative-historical, typological and comparative biographical methods. It is the first time, when using the comparative analysis, typological similarities of imagery and artistic systems are transpired and the links between Ukrainian anti-serfdom and American abolitionist literature of the XIX century. For the first time, the attention is focused on the ideological-compositional analysis of works, retraced their problem-thematic correlation. The actuality and novelty of the thesis are deternined by using of comparative methodology for disclosuring of interliterary relationships. The scope - learning process.
