Essay

The object of the research is create of materials with specific properties based on metal containing polymers. The research purpose is the modification of linear and cross-linked polyurethanes with rare earth and transition metals coordination compounds, the investigation of system's properties depending on polymer matrix and modifiers' characteristics. The main results were obtained using the methods of electronic, infrared spectroscopy, electron spin resonance, X-ray, fluorescent analysis, optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermo gravimetric analysis, dielectric relaxation spectroscopy and other. It was shown, that the introduction of small amounts of metal coordination compounds into polyurethanes of different structure and topology, as well as varying the amount, structure and coordination saturation of metal containing modifiers influences significantly the structure and properties of such systems due to complexation between metal compounds and nitrogen and oxygen atoms of polyurethane functional groups. The obtained materials are characterized by high photoluminescence intensity in different spectral regions (red, green, blue, and near infrared), high photo stability, high absorbance level in the visible region of the spectrum, enhanced mechanical properties and thermal stability.
