Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the solution of the current issue of reducing capital and operating costs for residential solar heating systems. As based on the analysis, the expediency of using solar collectors made of polymeric materials has been proved. The regularities of influence of the solar radiation intensity on the heat capacity of the polymer solar collector, heat consumption and the solar collector area have been given. Based on the results of the studies, the efficient design of polymer-based solar collector made of transparent four layered cellular polycarbonate plate has been developed. An absorber of solar energy in the proposed design has been the solvent of the pigment dye. The technique of engineering calculations of the required area of polymer solar collectors has been developed. The feasibility study of the usefulness of polymer heliosystems for solar hot water systems has been done.
