Tarasov A. Risk management of agricultural enterprises

The object of research is the process of risk management of agricultural enterprises. The aim of the research is the development and synthesis of scientific and methodological foundations, tools and best practices of risk management of agricultural enterprises. The methods of the research are dialectical analysis and synthesis, statistical and economic, method of mathematical modelling and graphics, construction of analytical tables, method of factor analysis. Theoretical and practical results: the classification of agricultural enterprises' risks taking into account the whole process of risk management is improved; the risk management of business enterprises, which is oriented on the achievement of maximum efficiency at low cost, had received the further development; the practical significance of the results consists of the development of tools and practical advice on risk management activities of agricultural enterprises. The novelty of the research: the use of the value-at-risk to quantify the price and production risks of agricultural activities had been introduced in the research for the first time; the assessment methodology of the feasibility of insurance for farmers given the occurrence of a risk event had been developed; a mechanism of natural hedging of price risks, fuels and fertilizers' purchase by agricultural enterprises, taking into account the production cycle of the main crops in the South of Ukraine had been developed. The level of implementation: the results of the research are adopted for use by SE "Plemproduktor "Stepnoe" and by the CF "Delta". Scope of use: economics and business management.
