Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of general and specific combinative ability and the display of heterosis effect at the combination of different genotypes of pigs. It was determined that pigs of the Large Black breed are characterized good indexes of general and specific combinative ability (GCA and SCA). It was determined, that it is reasonably to use the Large White breed as maternal form and boars of the Large Black breed as paternal form in massive commodity pig breeding of Poltava region.
