Kasianenko D. The treatment of children’s distal occlusion with malfunction of facial muscles and muscles of mastication.

Dissertation is devoted to the increasing of efficiency of orthodontic treatment of children’s distal occlusion with disfunction of facial muscles and muscles of mastication by using the demountable, functionally valid orthodontic double – jowl activator for the simultaneous treatment and the restoration of nasal respiration. Clinical manifestations and disfunctions of facial muscles and muscles of mastication of children under the age of 9–12 with distal occlusion and physiological type of respiration and also with distal occlusion and pathological(oral) type of respiration are characterized in the research. The dependence of the appearance change of the patient at the age of 9–12 with distal occlusion and physiological type of respiration, and also with distal occlusion and pathological type of respiration is proven. The demountable, functionally valid orthodontic double – jowl activator of the personal construction for the simultaneous treatment of distal occlusion, restoration of the malfunction of facial muscles and muscles of mastication, regulation of the type of respiration is designed, patented and clinically tested. Proven, that the application of the activator allows to increase the efficiency of orthodontic treatment and reduce its time by the simultaneous impact on the pathological type of occlusion, pathological condition of facial muscles and muscles of mastication, pathological type of respiration.
