Essay

Object of research - contact fatigue of rolling pairs elements. The purpose of research - to create a complex methodology for a computer modelling of fracture processes in a contact zone of rolling pairs elements. To estimate contact durability of rolling pairs by the criteria of emergence of typical contact fatigue fractures. Methods of research - the approaches of fatigue fracture mechanics, singular integral equations for a plane problem of elasticity theory, Gaus-Chebishev's method of cubic spline for the approximation of crack development trajectories were used. Theoretical and practical results - the methodology, worked out in the dissertation, allows to determine conformations of operational parameters and characteristics of crack resistance, for which contact fatigue fracture development in a contact zone of rolling pairs elements is minimized. The results of the dissertation were used in Lviv Science Research Institute of Judicial Expert Examination in working out the principals of investigation of railway transport accidents.
