The focus of this research is in the area of complex analysis and the development of theoretical and practical statements that discover the legal essence of the appellate court authority within the criminal legal proceedings of Ukraine. This research has produced the concept of the appellate court authority within the criminal legal proceedings. The division and classification of the appellate court authority have been investigated and their functions have been discovered. The mechanism, the elements and the stages of the appellate court authority have been determined. The legal regulation and the practice of the appellate court authority realization at different stages of the appellate proceedings have been analyzed.
