3.The aim of the thesis is to deepen the theoretical and methodological foundations for rating of banks and justification of recommendations to improve the effectiveness of financial and investment decisions based on ratings. The object of research is the system of financial decision subjects of investment activity in the capital markets in Ukraine under conditions of information asymmetry. Methods: systemic-structural and abstract logic, scientific abstraction, economic analysis, synthesis, comparison, analogy, observations, grouping, summarizing, economic and mathematical modeling and forecasting system and a retrospective analysis, typing. Scientific novelty of the research is the developed approach for rating to determine the statistical probability of default of banks operating in the financial market of Ukraine, based on ALSAP methodology, which involves an assessment of the bank's lines: asset quality, quality commitment, financial stability, capital adequacy, profitability. The results are: formulated criteria for rating banks. Clarifying the relationship between cost of capital and rating. The ways of mitigating information asymmetry based on the credit rating of the bank. Reasonably scoring method of rating. Implementing of the use of credit ratings in the value-oriented management of the bank. The analysis of the sensitivity of the value of the banking business to changing in the rating. The approach to the strategic management of the bank on the basis of management's own rating. Reasonably management approach to maximize your credit rating. Identifying ways to improve the information to support management decisions based on ratings.
