Leus D. Portfolio investment as an instrument of financial support for sustainable development of Ukraine's economy

This thesis studies the essence of sustainable development concept and the possibility of its implementation in Ukraine. Global experience in financial support for sustainable economic development and the role of portfolio investment in it are systematized. Specific features of portfolio investment in sustainable development compared to traditional portfolio investment and socially responsible investment are outlined. The conceptual foundations of portfolio investment in sustainable development, based on structural and functional approach are developed. The dominant method of the investment portfolio formation is proposed. It depends on the type of portfolio investment in sustainable development the two-tiered approach to measuring portfolio investment's impact on the sustainability of the country economic development is presented; the principles for the Ukraine 's sovereign wealth funds functioning, scientific and methodical approach to determining the investment potential of the region in accordance with sustainability of its development and approach to the assessment of the company investment attractiveness, grounded on relationship between the level of its corporate social responsibility and financial performance are recommended.
