The key elements of government regulation of the foreign exchange market are analyzed. The relationship and interdependence between them is established. Recommendations for balancing supply and demand for foreign currency in the foreign exchange market of Ukraine are provided. Factors which influence the exchange rate are investigated. Methods for optimization of domestic banks in the foreign exchange market are proposed. Directions improving government regulation of the foreign exchange market are developed.
