Odosii O. Regulation of agri-food markets in the terms of free trade area creation between Ukraine and the European Union.

The thesis is devoted to the study of theoretical, methodological and practical issues of agri-food markets regulation in the terms of free trade area (FTA) creation between Ukraine and the European Union (EU). The stages of development, nature, functions and tools of the mechanism of state regulation of agricultural markets are defined. The paper investigates and analyzes the possible impact of trade liberalization under the FTA between the EU and Ukraine on agriculture and the food industry, using a general equilibrium model. The level of tariff protection of agri-food markets in Ukraine and the European Union is determined. The prospects of export-import relations between Ukraine and European countries as well as the competitiveness of agricultural products on the domestic and foreign markets are estimated. The suggestions for choosing the optimal format of FTA between Ukraine and the EU in order to minimize adverse effects on the agri-food sector in the Ukraine and to increase its export potential have been developed. As a criterion for the evaluation of possible scenarios of agri-food market under the FTA EU - Ukraine, the forecast of possible changes in production, trade balance, welfare, the cost of production factors and so on was made, using general equilibrium model.
