Essay

The theoretical background of efficiency of the electrochemical water treatment have been considered. Rational parameters of the water treatment in a diaphragm electrolyzer - optimum specific consumption of electricity, water temperature, the hydraulic load on the electrodes, processing time in the electrolyzer have been determined by means of experiment. The results of studies of the process of scaling in the steam boiler when recharging by treated water have been given. The dependencies of the intensity of scale formation on the heated surface of the boiler from the depth of the softening of makeup water have been presented. The results of anti-scale action of electrolysis of makeup water on the scale deposits on the heating surface of the steam boiler during prolonged operation have been given. It has been shown by analysis that the use of electrochemical softening makeup water during operation of once-through steam boilers and fire-tube heat generators low power instead of the traditional Na-cation water softening are economically advantageous.
