Photoluminescence emission and excitation spectra as well as dependencies of PL intensity on temperature of complex oxide compounds, in particular phosphate and molybdate crystals with three-valence cations (like Al, Fe, Y, Bi) were obtained. Calculations of the electronic band structures of the investigated compounds were performed. Origin of intrinsic luminescence of the investigated phosphates and molybdates was established in comparative analysis of the crystal structure peculiarities, results of electronic structure calculations and data on the luminescence spectroscopy.
