Essay

The research is devoted to analysis of the phenomenon of intersemioticity in Yuriy Andrukhovуch's and Oksana Zabuzhko's essayistics. The particular attention is paid to the specifics in transcoding of literary texts into artistic metalanguage of other arts, such as painting, cinema, television and music. For this reason theoretical and literary-critical views at genre nature of essay and its artistic issue were investigated. The specificity of this form of art was also defined.The paper analyses in details the patterns of images transcoding within the same sign system into images of another system, depending on the type of signs (figurative / infigurative); relevant typological classification are shown.
