Essay

The thesis is devoted to the assessment of risk factors, prevention and treatment of periodontal diseases in children. We have found a correlation between the severity of chronic catarrhal gingivitis and oral hygiene level, bone tissue mineralization data, the presence of abnormalities of oral soft tissues, orthodontic disorders and chronic somatic diseases as risk factors for the disease. Predictive model based on data history and clinical dental examination is developed, which allows to determine three predictive probability of chronic catarrhal gingivitis occurrence: Virtually no risk, moderate risk with a probability of formation of mild severity of gingivitis and high-risk with a probability of formation of moderate and severe degree of gingivitis. Clinical course and the alveolar processes bone state in children of 12–15 years old, depending on the severity of the chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis are defined. We have found that with increasing of the severity of chronic catarrhal gingivitis in children of 12–15 years old the number of parodontopathogenic bacteria is increasing, increases the probability of formation of associations, reduces the sensitivity to conventional antibiotic therapy. Developed and introduced in practice new scheme of chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis of treatment, depending on the individual course of disease in children. Adhesive polymer films «Diplen – denta X» during mild and moderate stages and «Diplen – denta M» and «Diplen – denta K» during the severe degree of chronic catarrhal gingivitis, a complex of microelements and vitamins Calcinova during initial treatment and during rehabilitation contributes to a significant improvement of the condition of periodontal tissues. It is confirmed by positive dynamics of clinical symptoms and increasing number of healthy sextants, estimated by index CPI for 6 months after treatment.
