The dissertation is a complex study of the conceptual basics of legal regulation of the professional athletes labour activity. A number of topical problems in the mentioned sphere are defined, the vector of further improvement of the current and projected labour legislation of the raised issues is determined. The characteristic of professional athletes as subjects of labour law is given. The order and peculiarities of the employment contract with professional athletes is emphasized, its content is analyzed. The possibility of settling the implementation of the temporary transfer of professional athletes ("lease") norms of labour law is demonstrated. The grounds for terminating employment agreements with professional athletes are established. The existing guarantees are analyzed and the necessary additional guarantees for professional athletes, due to the specifics of their work are formulated.
