Kutsevych O. Legal Issues of Land Consolidation in Ukraine

The dissertation addresses land consolidation understood as the concentration of agricultural lands by a single person based on different legal titles (first of all, the ownership title). The land parcels concentrated are not necessarily to be formally merged or to be adjacent, but the concentration should enable the possibility to use them as a single farm. Based on rewiev of the scientific literature, legislation and the practices of its implementation, as well as on the basis of historical and foreign experience of land consolidation legal regulation, the social and legal evaluation of land consolidation is made. The author argues that positive consequences of land consolidation significanly overweight its possible downsides. Besides, there are effective legal mechanisms to prevent and mitigate these consequences.
