In the thesis it is examined the set of theoretical and practical questions concerning the research and technology means and methods in the investigator's search work. It is exposed the evolution of the research and technology means and methods in the theory of criminal proceeding and criminalistics'. It is proved the practicability of this term in the legislation and in the practice of laws' application. The investigator's search work is examined as a cognitive activity's model with its particularities. It is exposed the classification of the research and technology means for the investigator's search work, it is improved the admissibility criteria of its application in the law protection practice. It is demonstrated the fundamental legal and organizational principles for the application of the research and technology means for the investigator's search work. It is proved the proposals concerning the further legal regulation of the order of the application of the research and technology means for the investigator's search work. It is proposed the legislative changes in the current Criminal procedural Code made for the standardization of the institute of the non-public investigative (search) activities and the order of application during the research and technology means' implementation.
