Essay

The thesis is dedicated to investigation of the immune system status alterations in patients with non-small cell lung cancer and renal carcinoma during dendritic cell-based specific active immunotherapy and identification of new immunological criteria to evaluate the efficacy of administered immunotherapy. It have been determined that immunological parameters, including TGF- mRNA expression level, absolute number of CD4+ memory cells and RANTES/MIP-1? mRNA expression levels ratio are highly correlated with the duration of disease-free period in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. The developed complex of immunological criteria can be applied in clinical practice for the evaluation of specific immunotherapy efficacy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer and renal carcinoma.
