Essay

The thesis deals with the complex analysis of R. Asprin's humorous fantasy cycle Myth Adventures. Its genre specificity has been defined as a humorous cycle, which consists of a dozen adventure novels. It has been shown that the humorous narrative strategy is determined by the author both on the level of the text and within the images of the main hero and his ally who correspond to the archetype of trickster. The same strategy has been traced in the onomasticone and the way of depicting the fantasy world picture, which is represented by mythic characters and dimensions with significant humorous semantics. The principles of the plot and composition structure have been defined. The philosophical and aesthetic component of the novels has been explored. The principles of possession and consuming in author's interpretation and their correlation with the modern world have been analyzed as well as the transformation of the categories of Good and Evil in R. Asprin's humorous fantasy.
