Essay

The thesis is devoted to estimation and methodological approaches for modeling and aboveground biomass in the pine stands of Kiev Polissya using various spatial resolution satellite image. As results of our study the main approaches of aboveground biomass using remote sensing data were examined. The algorithm for processing and analysis of satellite imagery for mapping of output data was improved. It also presents the results of biomass mapping and mathematical models for modeling and aboveground biomass estimation using SPOT-5 satellite image (10 meters resolution). Methodical principles of QuickBird satellite image for forestry interpretation were examined and developed the mathematical models for valuation of pine stands and individual tree inventory parameters. Also the trends of expected climatic parameters and their further impact on forest ecosystems for the territory of Ukrainian Kiev Polissya were considered.
