Essay

The jurisdictional status of Ukrainian Orthodoxy is reconstructed and analyzed on the basis of a wide range of sources and literature, and a comprehensive study of a wide range of issues related to the split of Ukrainian Orthodoxy is undertaken. The religious and ecclesiological reflection of possibilities of National Church Canonic Designis proposed. The historical and canonical bases for the need for autocephalous status of Ukrainian Orthodoxy are analyzed. The reconnaissance of key root causes and the canonical legality of the creation of the UOC-KP is conducted the main of which is Apostolic Rule 34. It is stated on basis of the research of the main stages of Ukrainian Church jurisdictions formation during transformational changes in post-Soviet society that the main reason for the inability of unification of Ukrainian churches are Orthodox hierarchs who artificially created conflicts in the Ukrainian Orthodox Christianen vironment. The existence of fundamental ecclesiological conflicts taking place in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is specified, namely issues: the apostolic succession, church canonical character, administrative association of local churches and baptism. The thesis states that the rearetheological differences in interpretation of such theological terms as "autocephaly" and "apostolic succession". The legality or illegality of theuse of these ecclesiological definitionsas "canonical Church" and "independent Church "isargued. It is proved that both ideas of the UOC-KP ("an independent state - an independent church", "the future with the EU") and ideas of the UOC-MP andthe ROC ("the brotherhood of peoples", "Orthodox civilization," "Russian World", "Kievan Christianity") are not canonicall ycorrect. It is found that excessive politicization of Ukrainian Orthodoxy is reinforced by unresolved canonical, ecclesiastical, social and economic problems and so is and can be in the future a catalyst for conflict perturbations that may lead to instability in the country. It is noted that today all the prerequisites exist for over cominginter-Orthodox division and unificationof Ukraini an churches in the Unified Orthodox Christian National Church.
