Bozhok N. Development of planning system parks passenger cars by railway enterprises

The thesis concentrates on developing of scientific and methodological approaches and practical recommendations to prognostication of passenger traffic volume and methods of planning passenger wagons' parks taking into consideration all possible factors. We have studied the nature of such economic category as prognostication for the effective passenger traffic management. Then we have analyzed the scientific works on economic prognostication and management of coaches. Passenger Sector activities in today's market and the current state of the Coaches Park are analyzed in the thesis. The new methodical approach to determining the number of coaches for the future was developed. It takes into consideration volumes of carried passengers, competition in the transport market, dynamics of the available inventory rolling stock, implementation of high-speed traffic, modern methods of coaches' repair and the passenger trains running in long-distance traffic, which minimizes the operation cost, maintenance and purchase of rolling stock.
