The research object is English-language political Internet-communication in the genre twitting carried out with the help of the communicative service Twitter. The subject of the research is the main genre parameters, linguistic and nonlinguistic peculiarities of twitting in the sphere of English-language political Internet-communication. The research purpose is to determine the main genre parameters, linguistic and nonlinguistic peculiarities of twitting as a hybrid genre in the sphere of English-language political Internet-communication. The methods used in the paper include general scientific and linguistic ones as well as elements of the quantitative analysis. The scientific novelty of the research is determined by the complex analysis of text messages - tweets in the sphere of English-language political Internet-communication. The paper seeks to reveal the nature of twitting as a hybrid digital genre; to identify the main genre parameters, linguistic and nonlinguistic peculiarities as well as differential characteristics of the genre in the sphere of English-language political Internet-communication. The theoretical significance of the paper is determined by its contribution to Internet-linguistics, genres theory and further development of digital genres theory. The practical value of the obtained results lies in the possibility to apply them in teaching general linguistics ("Language and speech", "Language as social phenomenon"), lexicology of the English language ("Semasiology"), stylistics of the English language ("Text genres"), courses in Internet-linguistics, digital genres theory, theory of communication, text linguistics.
