Essay

The thesis is devoted to the neologization as a process of creation of new compound words, to neologisms which are resulted from the neologization process. This research defines the process of word-formation neologization and the word-formation neologism. New words occur in the modern German language lexicon due to linguistic and extralinguistic factors. The main ways of creation of composite neologisms are semantic derivation, word-formation derivation, terminologization of words from literary language and borrowings of terminological vocabulary. The area of functioning of composite neologisms determines a number of functions. The functional and pragmatic paradigm of the modern linguistics involves a pragmatic approach to the study of compound neologisms marketing vocabulary.
