The thesis presents a research on pragmastylistic characteristics of English election political debate. The discursive features of English election political debate are revealed. The pragmatic component of English election political debate is outlined based on the system of discourse strategies, tactics and devices description. The linguistic means used to verbalize the discourse strategies, tactics and devices are defined. Detailed description of lexical and syntactic stylistic expressive means usage is provided; the individual peculiarities of politicians' verbal behavior are analyzed.
