Essay

The object of the investigation constitutes the units that represent different language levels of modern German. The units serve for the lingual implementation and actualization of linguocultural stereotypes in everyday German discourse. The subject constitutes cognitive, lexical-semantic, communicative, pragmatic and functional characteristics of the German linguocultural stereotypes that are actualized in everyday discourse. The goal of the investigation is to single out the abovementioned characteristics of the stereotypes. The methodology is based on the principles of communicative and pragmatic approaches that enable scholars to clarify the essence of stereotypes, their national specificity and influence on the communicative process. The scientific novelty lies in singling out the most frequent topics of the German everyday discourse, systematizing the stereotypes-images, defining the discursive strategies and tactics with the actualization of stereotypes, investigating their influence on the structural organization of German everyday discourse. Furthermore, the research singles out the relevant communicative and pragmatic functions of the stereotypes and specifies understanding of the notion of the stereotype as a language and speech phenomenon in everyday discourse. The theoretical value of the work is based on the impact on the theory of intercultural communication, ethnoculturalpragmalinguistics and discourse theory. The practical value is based on the fact that the results of the investigation can be used in theoretical courses of lexicology of the German language, theory of intercultural communication and linguopragmatics.
