The thesis is the first complex research project in Ukrainian literary studies on Eugenio d'Ors' poetics based on his own universalist theory in which the concepts of classicism and baroque are represented as general cultural models. The purpose of the presented study is to analyze the formation process of the concept of baroque in the dynamics of its development and to identify the features of genre and novels poetics as the reflection of Eugenio d'Ors' baroque worldview. Some remarkable characteristics of the baroque polemics in the cultural context of Western Europe of the first half of the 20th century are under review in this research in order to define the place of the Catalonian writer's baroque conception in the above-mentioned context and to determine the main sources of influence on its formation. The literary works by Eugenio d'Ors are analyzed within wide context of Spain and Catalonia literary process of the first half of 20th century. The concept of "new" or "intellectual" novel is studied from the point of view of its derivation from genre of the gloss. Vacational chronotope represents the dominant type of temporal and spatial relationship in the novels by d'Ors and reflects the interaction of baroque and classical tendencies. Narrative analysis of d'Ors' literary works is focused on the specifying of narrative techniques used in his texts and its classification as belonging to classical or baroque paradigm.
