Essay

Object of research - the arc sprayed coatings from cored wires of Fe-Cr-C and Fe-Cr-B systems with a chromium content above 12 wt. %. The aim of research - to develop new compositions of cored wires on the base of Fe-Cr-C and Fe-Cr-B ferroalloys for generating wear resistant arc sprayed coatings with improved corrosion resistance. The reliability of the results is provided by the use of modern methods of physical and mechanical studies. The proposed compositions of cored wires allow doping arc sprayed coatings with elements, which provide coatings required properties and the ability to control metallurgical processes during spraying process. It was established that the corrosion resistance of the coatings in neutral and weakly acidic media inversely-proportional to their chemical microhetrogeneity (KMG). The chemical composition of cored wires in the shell of steel 08 kp for generating of wear resistant coatings with enhanced corrosion resistance in neutral aqueous solutions have been justified. It has been found, that adding to charge composition components (ferrophosphorus, ferrosilicon or self-fluxing PG-10H-01) which are capable to form a low melting eutectic, provides a complete fusion between the powder charge and its shell in the combustion zone of the electric arc, thereby improving the chemical homogeneity of the coating. The formulas for calculating the amount of chromium in the composition of the cored wires, which is necessary to ensure its content in the lamellae of coatings not less than 12 wt. % have been proposed.
