Essay

The research is dedicated to the study of structural, semantic and functional peculiarities of parabolizms in modern German, represented in biblical texts, lexicographical sources and newspapers. Lexico-phraseological, lexico-grammatical and lexico-semantic characteristics of parabolizms have been elucidated. Paradigmatic, syntagmatic and epidigmatic relations of these units have been considered as a part of the investigated lexico-semantic groups. The meanings of parabolizms were studied in the biblical text and in the modern German, as well as their intertextual peculiarities, functions, structural and semantic changes. The application of qualitative and quantitative methods enabled to reveal the realization of parabolic fragment of the biblical world view, which is examined in contemporary German periodicals. The basic models of its representation by means of parabolizms are also taking into account.
