Essay

Object of research: phase and structural transformations of gels at heat treatment, processes of formation of coatings. Purpose: development of technology of corundum coatings and ways of consolidation with usage of zol-gel compositions of products from graphite for protection against oxidation at high temperatures. Scientific novelty: synthesis of an antioxidant of SiC is confirmed at a temperature of 457 ° C in Si-O 2 -C system when using in technologies of a tetraethoxysilane and zol-gel compositions. Influence of an additive B 2 O 3 on acceleration of a coating’s sintering, an intensification of synthesis of SiC has been found out. The dense intermediate coat layer self-reinforced by the synthesized SiC nanoparticles provides a diffusive barrier to carbon of a graphite body and reliable protection of graphite against oxidation in the air environment. Implementation: coatings are introduced by the enterprise scientific research institute "Grafit" (Moscow), antioxidant compositions passed approbation on JSC Anna-Tems (Dnepropetrovsk), JSC Kermet-U (Kharkov).
