Essay

The structure of six new compounds: Ru2Se6Br12, two isostructural compounds Rh2Se9Cl6 and Rh2Se9Br6 with newly identified ligand ring-crown Se9, Os2Se2S6Cl8, Os4SeS11Cl8, Os2Se5S7Br8 have been investigated. These compounds are binuclear and crystallize in their structural types. It has been found by vibrational spectroscopy that the synthesized compounds contain a number of structural fragments, as evidenced by the presence of chemical bonds: (S-Hal), (S-S), (Se-Hal), (M-Hal), (S-Se), (M-S), (Se-Se) and (M-Se). It has been found that RhSe2, a product of thermal decomposition of Rh2Se9Cl6 acts as a promoter of the catalytic system of gallium-containing zeolite, Ga/H-ZSM-5, in the conversion of glycerol to acrolein.
