Essay

This thesis deals with the actual to the domestic power industry scientific and practical problem of improving the reliability of electric power supply. To achieve this goal, improved models, methods and algorithms have been developed for determining optimal type, quantity and installation sites of modern protection and switching equipment in overhead distribution networks. A new method has been devised for quantitative estimation of the reliability of electric power supply systems that comprise overhead distribution networks of arbitrary topology. A new approach based on a greedy algorithm modification has been developed to solve the problem of optimal sectionalizing of overhead distribution networks.
